Patreksfjörður

Staður

Patreksfjörður is a fishing village located in the Westfjords of Iceland, and is the westernmost settlement in the country. Named after Bishop Patrick of the Hebrides, it has a rich history as a fishing and trading post, though its population declined after the introduction of a national fishing quota in 1990. Today, fishing and fish processing remain primary industries, supplemented by growing tourism due to its proximity to natural attractions like Látrabjarg cliffs and Rauðasandur beach.
