Varmahlíð is a small village located in the Skagafjörður region of northern Iceland, serving as a commercial and traffic junction point on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Established in 1931, it has historically been a stopover for travelers and is known for its geothermal activity, which provides heating for buildings and greenhouses, and powers a local swimming pool. With a population of around 140-150 people, Varmahlíð is also significant as a center for horse breeding in Iceland and is home to a natural history museum and the Miðgarður concert hall.
