Staður

Kaupmannahöfn, also known as Copenhagen, is the capital and most populous city of Denmark. It holds historical significance for Iceland as it served as the administrative and cultural center for Icelanders during centuries of Danish rule, from 1383 until Iceland's full sovereignty in 1918 and the establishment of the republic in 1944. Many Icelanders historically pursued higher education in Copenhagen, and it continues to be a significant destination for Icelandic students.
