Umhverfisstofnun, also known as the Environment Agency of Iceland, was an organization operating under the Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources. Its primary role was to promote the protection and sustainable use of Iceland's natural resources, ensure a healthy environment, and oversee safe consumer goods. The agency was dissolved on December 31, 2024, and its responsibilities were transferred to the newly established Icelandic Environment and Energy Agency and the Nature Conservation Agency of Iceland.
