Sundahöfn

Staður

Sundahöfn is the principal cargo and container harbor of Reykjavík, Iceland, and serves as the nation's main gateway for imports and exports. It handles most of Iceland's container traffic through terminals operated by companies like Eimskip and Samskip. The port was constructed starting in 1960, with the first phase becoming operational in 1968, gradually taking over cargo operations from the old harbor. Sundahöfn is managed by Associated Icelandic Ports (Faxaflóahafnir sf.), which also oversees other harbors in the region.
