Strandir is a remote coastal region located on the eastern edge of Iceland's Westfjords peninsula, known for its rugged beauty, dramatic landscapes, and rich folklore surrounding sorcery and witchcraft. Historically reliant on fishing and sheep farming, the area has experienced rural depopulation but is now seeking to develop tourism. Hólmavík is the largest settlement in Strandir and home to the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery and Witchcraft.
