Þór Akureyri is a multi-sport club based in Akureyri, Iceland, established in 1915. It features departments in basketball, football, handball, and taekwondo. The women's basketball team is facing a fine from the Icelandic Basketball Association (KKÍ) for refusing to play a 1st division game against Selfoss on Thursday evening. The women's basketball team has won the national championship three times and participated in the top-tier Úrvalsdeild kvenna in the 2023–2024 season for the first time in 45 years.
