Gæða- og eftirlitsstofnun velferðarmála (GEV), or the Quality and Supervision Agency for Welfare Affairs, is an independent Icelandic organization established on January 1, 2022. It operates under the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Labour Market, with the primary role of strengthening and coordinating the professional supervision of the quality of welfare services across Iceland. GEV monitors services provided under various laws, including child protection, municipal social services, and services for disabled and elderly people, ensuring they are reliable, safe, and compliant with legal provisions.
