Öxnadalsheiði is a plateau and mountain pass in northern Iceland, situated between Norðurárdalur in Skagafjörður and Öxnadalur in Eyjafjörður. Route 1, a significant part of Iceland's Ring Road, traverses this area, which is known for being snowy and historically difficult to travel. The highest point of the road through Öxnadalsheiði reaches an altitude of 540 meters above sea level, making it the second-highest point on Route 1. The area is also notable for its dramatic landscape, including the deep gorge of the Heiðará river and the prominent Hraundrangi peak.
