FIFA, or the International Federation of Association Football, is the global governing body for football (soccer), founded in 1904. Iceland has been a FIFA member since 1947, with the Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ) controlling the national teams. Recently, FIFA implemented a new gender quota requiring at least one female coach in the coaching staff for all women's tournaments, impacting Icelandic women's national teams.
