Valur is a prominent Icelandic multi-sport club based in Reykjavík, founded on May 11, 1911, as part of the local YMCA. It is one of the most successful sports clubs in Iceland, having won numerous national championships across football, handball, and basketball for both men's and women's teams. Valur's men's football team has won the Icelandic championship 23 times, most recently in 2020, and its men's handball team has won the Icelandic league 22 times, more than any other Icelandic handball team.
