Lögreglan á Suðurlandi is the police force responsible for law enforcement in the Southern Region of Iceland, an area covering approximately 30,970 km² and 14 municipalities. Established on January 1, 2015, its headquarters are located in Hvolsvöllur, with additional stations in Selfoss, Vík í Mýrdal, Kirkjubæjarklaustur, and Höfn. The force plays a significant role in public safety, including managing traffic incidents and responding to natural hazards like volcanic eruptions, glacial floods, and earthquakes, which are prevalent in its jurisdiction. Magnús Ragnarsson serves as a chief sergeant with the organization.
