Landskjörstjórn, also known as the National Electoral Commission, is an independent administrative committee in Iceland responsible for overseeing the conduct of elections and implementing election laws. It plays a crucial role in the preparation and execution of elections for the Althing (Icelandic Parliament), presidential elections, municipal elections, and national referendums. The commission also publishes official notices, prepares voting materials, provides information and guidance to the public and electoral participants, and publicly announces election results.
